The following is a series of photos showing the test of the Australian Mark 48 torpedo in June of 1999. The torpedo warhead was equivalent to 1200 pounds of TNT. This torpedo explodes under the hull rather than striking the ship. Photos from the Maritime Headquarters and DSTO Australia.
