好像老山战役的东西就这个了。然后就接着几个79年的战例。
I';ve read memory of some PVA soldiers. One of them is Nong Thanh Phiao, who engaged Chinese in Lang Son front. He and his comrades, 80 border police and 20 soldiers of 3rd "Gold Star" division held their important position at Dong Dang fortress. They fought against Chinese tanks and infantry from 17th February to 22nd February, 1979. On 23rd February, Chinese sent more troops to attack the fortress. Phiao used a RPK and killed several enemies, include a Chinese officer stand in a tank. At 6h00 PM Chinese troops captured the top of the fortress. Phiao and Vietnamese survivor : wounded soldiers, 50 civilians stayed and defended in the bunker of the fortress. Chinese troops destroyed the tunnels by mines, then they sprayed petrol, toxic gas and droped smoke grenades into the bunker. Almost defenders were killed. Only 8 Vietnamese survived, they had to live without water or food, they used knives to dig and escaped from the fortress by a ventilator pipe on 2nd March, then Phiao and his comrades met a Vietnamese unit and were taken to the hospital.

Some battles from memory of Vietnamese :
On 17th February 1979, 2 Chinese companies attacked Vietnamese position at No 4 bridge, Kim Tan area of the town of Lao Cai. The bridge was protected by 8 Vietnamese : 5 border police and 3 militias, commanded by Do Van Hoa. They fired fiercely with a heavy machine gun and AK-47s. Many Chinese troops were killed and wounded by mines and the HMG. So they had to retreat. Do Van Hoa found a Chinese HMG. He killed users and destroyed the gun.
A few hours later, Chinese sent 3 scouts to reconnoitre. Hoa and 2 Vietnamese soldiers, Thiep and Hue decided to captured the scouts. But the Chinese fleed. Hoa fired accurately, killed all 3 scouts. Hoa, Thiep, Hue captured the weapons, radio transmiter and returned to their trench to wait for the Chinese.
2 other scouts were also discovered by Vietnamese. They were killed while trying to escape.
After lost 5 scouts, the Chinese stopped attacking.
At 2h00 PM, Vietnamese troops saw 2 Chinese trucks. They opened fire with HMG and RPG-2. The trucks were destroyed and some Chinese were killed.
At 6h00 PM, 3 Chinese scouts tried to break into Vietnamese trench. 2 were killed by Vietnamese while the 3rd fleed and stayed in a hole which Vietnamese digged to counter air strike. Hue run after the scout. He thew a grenade into the hole, the Chinese fired against and shot him dead. Hoa throw a grenade but the Chinese continued firing. Hoa was angry, he fired a RPG-2 round, destroyed the hole and killed the Chinese scout.
On that day, Hoa and his troops killed 100 chinese troops, destroyed 2 trucks and captured sereval weapons. They lost 1 men.

A battle in Cao Bang front :
On 8th March, 1979, a commandos unit (about 50 men) of VPA 45th commandos battalion led by 3 militias penetrated the area around the city Cao Bang where occupied by Chinese. They were equiped with AK-47s, RPG-7s, grenades and 82mm mortars. All their commanders had engaged in the war against US.
At 9h00 PM, 10th March 1979, they found 17 Chinese trucks, carried troops, H-12 rocket-launchers and ammo. Battalion commander, Hoang Manh Thoi and company political commander, Dao Van Quan decided to ambush them.
When the trucks were close to Vietnamese, Hoang Manh Thoi ordered his troops to attack. Nguyen Van Sinh fired a RPG-7 round at the last truck carried Chinese troops, destroyed it while one of his comrade, Ha Van Trieu used his AK-47 shot 3 round, killed the driver of the fist truck. The company second commander, Tuong Duy Chinh destroyed the second truck carried H-12 rounds with a RPG-7 round. Vietnamese commandos fired AK, threw grenades, then they assaulted. Platoon leader, Nguyen Van Duong commanded his 82mm mortars fired 150 rounds at Chinese positions on Thien Van, Yen Ngua hills. Dao Van Quan fired 6 RPG-7 rounds to 6 trucks, while his comrades used grenades with others. Chinese troops were embarrassed. Only a Chinese soldier tried to fire against Vietnamese with a RPK, but a Vietnamese commando, Ha Van Nhac aimed and shot him dead. Vietnamese captured weapons, destroys trucks and retreated before other Chinese units got to the battlefield.
The battle only took place in 20 minutes, Vietnamese commandos destroyed all 17 trucks, 2 H-12 rocket-launchers, communication equipment and killed 300 Chinese troops. 2 Vietnamese were wounded.

这些伤亡数字可信吗?

VPA occupied A6B, killed 25 and wounded 28 Chinese soldiers, captured 1POW, 2 HMGs, 4 RPKs, 5 RPG-7s, 11 AK-47s, 3000 grenades. Vietnamese lost 5 men and 14 wounded.
